This is the galley.  Actually, we're not supposed to call it a galley anymore according to NSF- I've been told that they want to get away from the old military jargon and make things more acceptable, so we're supposed to call it the "dining facility".  It's just like the way that the workers aren't supposed to call the scientists "beakers" anymore (think back to "Muppet Show").  Well, I'm a beaker, and I like eating in the galley.  So there!

And yes, we do get fresh broccoli- the plate is the remnants of my friend Brandon's dinner.  The way he eats, he reminds me a little of the way a certain schoolteacher from Texas used to eat back in the Ilisagvik cafeteria on a particularly mundane night (you know who you are!).
