The interior of the "Dome"- you might have seen pictures of this part of South Pole Station, well, this is the inside. It's a big dome with these orange buildings inside. There is a tunnel to the left leading to the outside and to other tunnels to the new station, the garages and exits to the other side of the station where summer camp is. Also at the end of this tunnel is a hill known as "cardiac hill"- it's probably the steepest hill (totally artificial) here and it gets it's name from how you feel when you go up it. When you're at nearly 10,000 feet elevation and not acclimated, you'd feel like you're having a heart attack by the time you got to the top!
By the way, this is also where I live- I live in the "Annex". Do you see the box marked "wood- no pallets"? See the hatch to the left? That's my door- or one of my doors. That's the escape hatch out of my room right there, as are the other hatches that you can see along side the building. I got two doors and no windows- it gets really dark inside! Directly above my room is the greenhouse (#14). I heard that the hydroponic system floods every now and then, hopefully not into my room!
