To get to the Pole, most people ride in LC-130s, LC-141s, or Twin Otters.  Others, a bit more hearty than the rest of us walk or ski here (there was a few people here dropped off here a few days ago in a Twin Otter who were going to ski to Patriot Hills about 650 km away, none arriving here the other way yet!).  The remainder, if they happen to have a plane handy can fly over the Pole to say they were there- this little plane (I have no idea what it was, I just know it's small and propeller driven and was from Australia going to South America) flew over the Pole today.  We know about these things because they post up all the flights planned for the day whether they land or not so that we can take measures if they happen to fly over instrumentation or anything sensitive like our clean air sector- but they didn't fly over that, we'd have to shoot them down if they did!

Update!  Check out what happened to the plane!  http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/3306443.stm
