Even all the way over here, getting together for Xmas dinner is important. This is the first Xmas here in the new galley (oops! I mean the "dining facility") and this is probably the only time (other than Thanksgiving) that people put on their nicer, clean clothes to get together and eat. It's pretty fancy and they even have lit candles on the tables (candles are a forbidden item on station- you don't want it burning down, do you?). I was a wine steward for this seating (there were 3, for 229 total people on station) and my job was to keep their glasses full and keep them happy until we kicked them out for the next seating, which is when I got to eat. It's a pretty exciting event to get a day off to stuff your face and do very little else.
