A few AMANDA pictures.....

AMANDA as you already know is really a bunch of long strings of photodetectors in the ice.  This room in MAPO is full of cabling and a  massive networking setup to collect the data from the strings outside.

But do you know what?  A funny thing you can say to these guys is that you switched one of the wires in here, but not to worry because you remember exactly which wire it was..... you do remember which one it was..... right???  Ok, maybe that's not so funny ;-)

But this setup will be dwarfed when ICE-CUBE comes online in the next few years.  I think really what AMANDA taught them is that they need to build an even bigger array in the ice to really see anything.
