Flat Stanley at the South Pole
So here we are at the South Pole. It's winter here (probably just starting summer for most of you out there....) and with no more flights until next November, that means no more mail until then. Hmmmm.....I wonder how Flat Stanley is going to make his way here if he's sitting in the US Antarctic Program warehouse in Christchurch, New Zealand? Maybe there's another way?

Yes, there is a way! Even without planes bringing in mail, we still have satellites and e-mail. Here he is now, waiting to get into the observatory.
Ah yes, here he is on the NOAA Climate Monitoring and Diagnostics Laboratory printer.
He looked a bit pale coming through the internet- let's spruce him up a bit.
Better, but the South Pole is no place for ties! Before we do anything else, we have to get him properly geared up before we can go to work!
Much better! Some insulated Carhartt overalls and blue Antarctic FDX boots. Now not only does he look good, but he can think about going outside when it's time!
