Greetings from Amundsen-Scott Station, A N T A R C T I C A

So finally, things are at an end for my year at South Pole.  I'm actually about a week shy of a full 365 days, but who's counting?  So since the last picture, I've cleared my stuff out of the way back at ARO (I'll be back, but its good to get my stuff out of the way for the summer, don't you think?) and we got on a flight to McMurdo, got stuck there for a day, and now we're on a C-17 heading for Chirstchurch.  This is the interior of a C-17, so new and spacious!  Much more comfortable than the C-141 I flew in on and I guess we might be seeing more of these because supposedly they're doing away with the C-141s after this year- so all those packed flights with quadruple rows might be a thing of the past.  There were about 25 of us and several others from McMurdo on this flight, along with a bit of cargo- a Twin Otter engine and propeller strapped in the middle.

So this will be the last entry for a little while.  I will be returning to South Pole towards the end of January and I'll start up the site again at that time and maybe give it a new look.  Hopefully all of this year's content will still be up as well too- we'll see when SDSU cuts me off, or my friends back there graduate and I lose my privileges with then!  If you have questions or suggestions, please use the link below- I'll still be checking my email regularly off the ice and would still like to hear from you if you have something to say.

Thanks for all your support over this year- you know exactly who you are!
