I am a native to Southern California.  I currently reside in Oceanside with my wife and two dogs.  I graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1998 with a Bachelor's degree in literature.  In 2001, I joined the Peace Corps.  While in Kazakhstan I worked as a TEFL Instructor.  It was during my time in the Peace Corps that I discovered my passion for teaching.  In the Fall of 2003, I acquired a teaching credential through the CSU San Marcos.  At present, I divide my time between working as a full-time substitute teacher at Empresa Elementary in Oceanside, driving a limo, moving pianos, and attending to my very charming wife.

Debbie DeRoma received her bachelor's degree in biology at Arizona State University and is currently  working toward her graduate degree at SDSU. After doing volunteer work with children, she realized she had an interest in teaching. Through the PISCES project she hopes to show children that science can be fun and exciting.
